Why posture braces don’t work.
let's look at the logic of posture braces.
The idea is, posture braces, will improve your posture, and they’ll do this by artificially supporting your body into a new position?
The first, thing to consider, is is that a good position. Like, is that even where we want to end up posturally? And
The secondly, even if it was, does being put and held in a position, by an external brace, mean that you can then hold it yourself?
How I cured my 4 years of chronic shin splints.
Around 20% of people participating in sports will experience shin splints at some point. For some people though, these aren’t just a passing phase, and they can very easily become a chronic recurring issue. I was unlucky enough to be one of those people. I had shin pain for 4 years, every time I ran, jumped or even walked too aggressively, my shins ached.
What is posture?
What is posture? On the surface level, this question has a simple answer: It’s the way you stand right? Or maybe the way you sit?
But what does this “way” mean, why are people’s ways so different? Is this something you’re born with? Or do you learn it? When, and from who? Is it permanent? Or can you change it? Does it change naturally over our life? Why? What impact does it have on performance or injury?
